Research interests: Anglo-Irish poetry and drama, Victorian and modern literature.
Publications include Contemporary Irish Literature: Transforming Tradition; articles in Irish University Review; Yeats: An Annual; The Comparatist; Etudes Theatrales; essays in Troubled Histories, Troubled Fictions: Twentieth-century Anglo-Irish Prose and Gender Perspectives in Twentieth-Century Ireland: Public and Private. Dr. Mahony is the editor of Sebastian Barry: Reclaiming Pasts in a Changing Ireland which will be published in Dublin in 2005.
